Out of all the dessert recipes you’ll find on this website, this is by far the easiest. All you need is 2 ingredients and 5 minutes (and one hour of patience) to make it. Okay, 3 ingredients if you count the boiling water. It’s creamy, custardy and sweet and as a bonus, it has 19 grams of protein per serving thanks to the Greek yogurt.
This recipe is very forgiving, so you can really play around with the quantities and ingredients here. Use any flavor of jello you like (my favorite is the lime flavor), and even any kind of yogurt you want. I use sugar free jello to keep this recipe high volume and low calorie, but if you don’t like artificial sweeteners, that’s totally fine. Regular jello works great, and gives you even more flavor options.
As for the yogurt, I use fat free plain Greek yogurt to give this sweet treat a little extra boost of protein. Full fat Greek yogurt will also work just fine, as well as any flavored yogurt. You can even use regular yogurt, and I’ve tried this recipe out with fat free vanilla yogurt with the same results.
The recipe steps in the Recipe Card below are very simple, but make sure to follow them. In order to end up with a smooth, creamy final product, you need to make sure the jello powder is fully dissolved in the water before starting to add the yogurt. Adding the yogurt right away, but in two batches, is also important. You don’t want to mix in all the yogurt at once because the jello mixture will be very hot and it could curdle. You also don’t want to let the jello mixture cool before adding the yogurt because the jello could start to thicken quickly, and the final product won’t be as creamy and smooth. Start with ½ cup of yogurt, which will cool the mixture down, then add the remaining 1 cup right away.
After an hour in the fridge, you’ll have a sweet and creamy high volume, high protein and low calorie sweet treat that satisfies your sweet tooth and leaves you feeling full.

Yogurt Jello (2 Ingredient High Protein Dessert)
Equipment
- 1 medium saucepan or kettle
- 1 whisk
- 2 bowls or containers
Ingredients
- 1 10g package jello (regular or sugar free; any flavor works)
- ½-1 cup boiling water (see Note 1)
- 1 ½ cups plain Greek yogurt (I use fat free; see Note 2)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk 1 packet of jello with ½ cup boiling water until the powder is completely dissolved (make sure the water is boiling or very, very hot or it may not thicken correctly)
- Whisk in ½ cup of Greek yogurt until smooth
- Add the remaining cup of yogurt and whisk again until smooth (adding all the yogurt at once into the hot jello mixture could cause it to curdle, so make sure you add it in two batches)
- Divide equally between 2 medium or 4 small containers
- Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour until set
